Instruction
Curricular Programs
The NSCF emphasizes curricular programs as the most effective way to
provide children with the benefits of a chess education. The NSCF works
closely with schools to ensure that curricular programs fall within
their educational philosophies. Enrichment Programs
The NSCF also offers extra-curricular enrichment programs. These
programs offer children the opportunity to improve their
practical skills through supervised play and proper guidance.
Community ClassesIn order to service areas which do not have
school-based programs, the NSCF offers chess learning opportunities at
various community youth centers . Summer Chess Program
The NSCF also offers instruction during the summer months, allowing
children to immerse themselves fully in chess for a period of time, and
to form relationships with students from other schools.
Tournaments
Tournament activity is supported
by the NSCF because it helps to encourage students to test themselves
against players of all ages. Tournaments are scheduled on a regular
basis to provide students with the opportunities to challenge and
improve themselves.
